Macedonia is a landlocked country in southeastern Europe, just north of Greece. It also borders Kosovo, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Albania. It's very mountainous, with deep basins and valleys covering the country. Its natural resources include copper, lead, and zinc.
Its exports include food, iron, and steel. The currency is the Macedonian Denar. It was the only Yugoslavian country to gain independence peacefully. It's one of the poorest countries in Europe, and has the highest unemployment rate behind Armenia.
